Comment: "I don't know if I qualify, but all can say is how much I miss Lincoln Park and I lived right across from the river in the flood zone. I'm not old enough to have memories of old old LP but I do have great ones of the new-old LP. That is one of the few places I was very happy in, whenever I was sad it was possible to just go out into my backyard and be engulfed into the wonderful smell of the trees and clean air. I hope that one day when I go back to visit Old Park (on river edge) and New Park (the fire station one) will still be there and I can swing just like I did when I was only 9." Comment: "How about that. I used to climb cliffs and ice skate with Donna Sek. I agree. I moved out of Lincoln Park while still a child but will always remember those years as some of my best." Submitted by Paul Korman from . Entered on November 24, 2006 Edit Entry

Comment: "I am a native of LP. I remember so many things as a child. Rte 202 had only two lanes. You had to stop the car to let the cows and wagons cross. Cows were out grazing in the fields. ShopRite was located on Main St. The library was located in the small building were the Historical Society now resides. The large red brick school on Chapel Hill Rd was were I attended K-8th grade. The river across from Rte 202 was bustling with activity. There were small beaches, row boats motor boats and fishing. Small fishing docks could be found all along the river. My Dad took my brother and I fishing off those docks many times. There was also a smmertime stand called Bill,s were you could sit at the counter and order hot dogs, fries, etc. This was located in the area were the Road Runner is now. In the summer every kid anxiously waited for the ice cream man. It was a white Good Humor Truck with the name "Blue Jay" on the sides. Up the road{Algonquin Ave} was a house with a horse stable. The owners use to ride there horses up and down my street. There were lots of woods and in the winter all of us kids would ice skate on the frozen areas we found. Sleigh riding was also an all day activity. We all played tag, jump rope, hop scotch, kick the can, hide and seek and had hula hoop contests. We built crates with old carriage wheels and constructed tree houses with old pieces of wood we found in the woods. In the Fall I remember the wonderful smell of people burning leaves in barrels. All in all, I had a wonderful childhood and I have always had a pleasant adulthood here in old LP. Even though we have recently lost our old home to a house fire, we are hoping to rebuild and stay right here were we belong. Linda" Submitted by Linda Britting from Lincoln Park, NJ. Comment: "I grew up in Lincoln Park, and I can't imagine a better place to grow up. While I was there, during the 60's and 70's, I could swim, hike, bicycle, climb cliffs, ice skate and generally have the best childhood. Everyone was friendly and knew their neighbors. I haven't been back in many years, but I hope to get back there soon and see what my town has become today." Submitted by Donna Sek from Miami, FL. Entered on June 29, 2006 Edit Entry
