The Clerk is the Election Administrator and as such is responsible for the majority of the Election Process at the local level. Below you will find some general information along with a few important dates and deadlines that you may be interested in. The accompanying forms are also included.

Voter Registration

The registration deadline (effective January 1, 2006) is 21 days before any election. To register to vote, complete the Voter Registration Form.



Mail-In Ballot

In New Jersey, any registered voter can now vote by absentee ballot for any election without a reason. Simply complete the Mail-In Ballot Form, print out the application and mail to the county up to 7 days prior to the election. You may also apply in person to the County Clerk up until 3 p.m. the day before the election. If you do apply for an absentee ballot, you will not be permitted to vote at your polling place in the same election. After you have submitted your application for an absentee ballot, the county will mail an Absentee Ballot to you.







Party Affiliation Declaration Form

The Party Affiliation Declaration Form must be filed no later than 50 days preceding the primary in which the voter wishes to vote. A newly registered voter, an unaffiliated voter or a voter who has never voted in a primary election, can affiliate with the party on the day of the primary.
