[ARCHIVED] OEM UPDATE

The Lincoln Park Office of Emergency Management continues to monitor the weather forecast for this evening.

At this time, our weather partners indicate that we can expect rain this evening and into Saturday afternoon.

The heaviest rainfall is expected late this evening into early Saturday morning, with a range of 1-2”.

Given our most recent rain, we are anticipating additional stream, creek and river flooding. In addition, saturated grounds and gusty winds can lead to trees or power line issues tonight into Saturday as wind gusts range from 35-40 MPH this evening and Saturday with additional gusts on Sunday.

Many of the areas that will be affected are currently experiencing flooding.   Additional flooding is expected to be minimal with regards to height of water, but is expected to keep the area flooded longer than usual.

Areas in which water level has already receded may experience some additional flooding, though it is not projected to be nearly as bad as earlier in the week.   That being said, if you live in an area that typically floods, NOW is the time to take the usual precautions regarding your cars, your property and your personal safety.

Stay Safe!
